Torn Earlobe Repair

The procedure is a simple, 30-60 minute outpatient procedure in our office.

How is the earlobe repaired?

Torn or split earlobes can occur from acute trauma or long-term use of heavy earrings.

Local anesthesia is injected into the area. After removing the damaged portion of the skin, small sutures are placed to bring the skin together.  You may drive yourself home immediately after the procedure. For most patients, the preoperative numbing injections and procedure itself are almost completely painless.  The ear will likely be tender afterwards, but is typically relieved with Extra Strength Tylenol.

The most frequent comment we hear is, “If I knew it would be this easy, I would have done this years ago!”
